MedStar Health’s inpatient pharmacy at MedStar Washington Hospital Center is hiring a Pharmacy Technician I. Under pharmacist supervision, you will prepare routine medication orders, restock automated dispensing systems, repackage medications, and compound non-sterile medications.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of a technician program or enrollment in a pharmacy program, and at least 6 months of related experience.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved/accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or currently enrollment in a college of pharmacy program preferred.
• One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
• 6 months related pharmacy technician experience required.
• Hospital environment experience preferred or current enrollment in a current college of pharmacy program.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare medications in ready-to-administer form using proper techniques and calculations; label and package per policy.
• Restock automated dispensing machines and repackage medications.
• Assist pharmacists with obtaining patient information for safe medication management under direct supervision.
• Transport medications to patient care units and deliver to designated locations within standards.
• Store medications safely and ensure proper storage conditions.
• Participate in quality and service improvement teams and evaluate medication management safety.
• Utilize automation where applicable.
