Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 6–12 months related pharmacy technician experience preferred
• 6 months hospital environment experience preferred
• PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician Maryland State Registered required upon hire
• National Pharmacy Technician license required upon hire

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacists in obtaining patient specific information for safe medication management under direct supervision
• Ensures medications are stored properly and safely throughout the hospital
• Appropriately labels medications and chemicals with expiration dates and warnings
• Safely prepares sterile products and hazardous/CSP medications with appropriate precautions
• Transports medications to patient units within established turnaround times
• Inspects returned medications for integrity and manages stock and recalls
