Job summary

The University of Chicago Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II for the Inpatient Pharmacy in Chicago, IL. This part-time, 0.5 FTE role supports pharmacists in preparing medications and stocking Omnicell systems across multiple pharmacy work areas.

You will assist with unit-dose packaging, IV admixtures, and outpatient cashiering while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician License is required.
• Minimum of one year pharmacy experience or completion of an ASHP-approved technician vocational course, or student enrolled in a college of pharmacy.
• Ability to work as a team player and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Transport medications and supplies to nursing units and clinics.
• Manage Omnicell inventory and restock as needed.
• Assist in CVS cart/CPR-related tasks and prioritise STAT orders.
• Prepare medications for dispensing under pharmacist supervision, including unit-dose packaging and IV admixtures.
• Perform cashiering duties in outpatient pharmacy as needed.
• Provide training support to new pharmacists and technicians.
