Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II for the Ingalls Memorial Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy in Harvey, IL. The role involves IV admixture, stock management, and off-site location work, with a full-time, rotating shift schedule. Must be licensed and certified as a pharmacy technician in Illinois.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must hold current valid Illinois pharmacy technician license.
• Must hold current valid pharmacy technician certification; grandfathered in if applicable.
• General hospital experience as a licensed pharmacy technician is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders accurately through automated carousel-storage system.
• Prepare intravenous admixtures via DoseEdge and process parenteral orders.
• Process stock replacement requests for nursing units.
• Prepackage tablets, capsules, liquids and other medications.
• IV admixture preparation and chemotherapy compounding.
• Order, receive and stock medications and supplies.
• Willing to work at multiple locations (off-site infusion centers).
• Ensure compounding areas and equipment meet USP 797 and USP 800 standards.
• Assist pharmacist with daily tasks in the department.
• Provide courteous and timely patient/service support.
