Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist in processing medication orders for inpatient and outpatient services, under general supervision. You will enter orders into electronic health records, prepare labels, stock medications, and perform non-sterile compounding in line with USP guidelines and state rules.

Applicants should have ExCPT or PTCB certification, a high school diploma or GED, and prior pharmacy experience; strong attention to detail and customer service

Qualifications

• ExCPT or PTCB certification with state registration.
• High school diploma or GED required; accredited tech training preferred.
• Previous experience in retail, ambulatory, or hospital pharmacy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accept prescription orders from prescribers or agents; handle verbal orders per state law.
• Enter and retrieve information in EHR; ensure accurate charge/credit for billing.
• Prepare labels; stock medications; count and pour for dispensing; non-sterile compounding.
• Operate robotic dispensing systems and assist with transport to off-site locations.
• Assist in education and precepting of new technicians and students.
• Outpatient: packaging and insurance claim processing; inpatient/home infusion: sterile compounding.
