Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a certified Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in medication preparation for inpatients and outpatients, including processing new prescriptions and transfers. The position requires ExCPT or PTCB certification with state registration, a high school diploma, and experience in hospital/retail/ambulatory settings.

Qualifications

• ExCPT certification provided by NHA or PTCB certification with State Board registration (required).
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of ASHP/ACPE tech training program or equivalent; military/Veterans Affairs or state-approved career tech high school program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in preparation of medications for inpatient and outpatient services, including accepting prescriptions from prescribers or agents.
• Enter and retrieve data in electronic health record or prescription processing system; ensure accurate billing.
• Prepare and label medications, stock inventory, count and pour drugs, and perform non-sterile compounding per USP guidelines.
