Henry Ford Health seeks a Full Time Pharmacy Technician for Inpatient Advance Drug Therapy. You will work under a pharmacist to process orders requiring special handling and maintain strict aseptic conditions.

Requirements include a Michigan Pharmacy Technician license and at least one year of hospital or retail pharmacy experience. You will prepare chemotherapy meds, transcribe orders, keep records, and assist with staff training in safe handling.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Requires a valid Pharmacy Technician license from the State of Michigan.
• Requires at least one year of experience as a Hospital Pharmacy Technician and/or Retail Pharmacy Technician.
• Must have ability to maintain records and perform calculations.
• Must safely handle cytotoxic and other special drugs in a vertical flow hood environment.
• Must maintain Investigational Drug Research Records and validate doses per protocols.
• Must maintain pharmacy inventory and deliver prescriptions to nursing units.
• Must type approximately 25 WPM.
• Must read and interpret literature on special handling medications.

Responsabilités

• Under pharmacist supervision, prepares and pre-packages chemotherapy and other special medications.
• Reads and transcribes prescription orders and prepares labels.
• Maintains records of medications dispensed.
• Prepares drug therapy monitoring forms for pharmacists.
• Restocks dispensing areas and maintains aseptic hood conditions.
• Assists in programs and protocols for safe handling of special agents.
• Assists in training staff on safe handling of chemotherapeutic drugs.
• Performs other duties as needed beyond stated tasks.
