Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) seeks a Pharmacy Inventory Specialist for our Inpatient Pharmacy. The role supports procurement of pharmaceuticals and supplies, maintains par levels, and ensures accurate stock and returns processing to maximize value and compliance.

The ideal candidate has strong inventory control skills, experience with 340B/WAC concepts, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment while adhering to USP guidelines and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college or associate/bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Massachusetts Board by hire date.
• National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB or exCPT) required.
• 3–4 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain purchasing invoice records and track & trace database.
• Manage medication inventories and rotate stock per USP guidelines.
• Keep medication shelves and storage areas organized and clean.
• Process drug returns promptly and reconcile credits from invoices.
• Review EDI transmissions and ensure successful data exchange.
