Job summary

OU Medicine in Oklahoma City is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacist PRN to provide expert-level oversight of medication-use processes and lead pharmacy operations. The role emphasizes clinical judgment, staff supervision, and collaboration with nursing and medical teams.

You will ensure regulatory compliance, participate in IDS and inpatient workflows, and mentor staff while supporting high-reliability pharmacy practices in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a PharmD or D.Ph. degree.
• At least 1 year of experience as a licensed pharmacist.
• Oklahoma Pharmacist License required; licensure within 90 days of hire.
• Preceptor certification required within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level oversight of medication order verification, compounding, and distribution to ensure safety and compliance.
• Develop staffing schedules; oversee timekeeping and respond to workload changes.
• Lead daily operations, improve workflow, and supervise pharmacists and technicians.
• Oversee inventory, storage conditions, and discrepancy resolution.
• Mentor pharmacists, residents, technicians, and students in practice standards.
