Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Stanton 6 Patient Care Associate to join our inpatient care team. This role provides direct patient support alongside the nursing staff, with a focus on vital signs, mobility, personal care and routine patient-care tasks.

The position is 36 hours weekly, three 12-hour shifts on a rotating day/night schedule, with every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Healthcare clerical experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology helpful
• Reading and writing at level 8 in Invest system (documentation)
• Ability to set priorities and organize workflow
• Attention to detail during interruptions
• Strong interpersonal skills with patients and staff

Responsibilities

• Obtain and report vital signs, weights, intake/output, glucometer results
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection as assigned
• Assist patients with bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding and daily living activities
• Help patients ambulate, reposition, and transfer safely
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient needs; observe changes and report
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and required documentation
