Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Care Associate for Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. This full-time role provides hands-on support to patients and the nursing team, including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, mobility assistance, and daily living activities.

The position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work rotating day/night shifts with every other weekend.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Medical terminology is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to interface with support and professional staff and patients.
  • Ability to read and write at level 8, as documented on Invest.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and report vital signs, weights, intake and output, and glucometer results.
  • Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection.
  • Assist patients with bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, and other activities of daily living.
  • Help patients ambulate, reposition, and transfer safely.
  • Answer call lights and respond promptly to patient needs.
  • Observe patients and report changes in condition to the nursing team.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Complete patient treatments as directed by licensed staff.
  • Two hour patient rounding and required documentation.
