Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Care Associate for Stanton 6, full-time, 36 hours per week with rotating day and night shifts. You will provide direct patient care, assist nursing staff, and help with vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and activities of daily living in a busy inpatient setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, some clerical healthcare exposure, and strong communication skills to support patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to read and write at level 8 on hospital software.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and report vital signs, weights, intake/output, and glucometer results.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection.
• Assist patients with bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding.
• Help patients ambulate, reposition, and transfer safely.
• Answer call lights and respond promptly to patient needs.
• Observe patients and report changes in condition to the nursing team.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Complete patient treatments as directed by licensed staff.
• Perform two-hour patient rounding and required documentation.
• Provide one-to-one close observation when needed.
• Maintain clean, safe, organized, and stocked patient-care areas.
• Collaborate with nurses and other members of the healthcare team.
