Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APRN/PA) to deliver inpatient palliative care at Froedtert Hospital in the Milwaukee metro area. The role involves teamwork, patient safety, and teaching responsibilities within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include thorough patient assessments, symptom management planning, and coordination of care with attending physicians, nursing, social work, and chaplaincy.

Qualifications

• Must hold active APRN or PA licensure with eligible credentialing.
• DEA eligibility is required to prescribe.
• BLS certification is required.
• APRN/PA candidates should have board certification in their role.
• Experience in palliative care or oncology is valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive histories & physical exams.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Develop pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic symptom management plans.
• Coordinate care and communication among team and patients.
• Support teaching and precepting APRN students and trainees.
