Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse Inpatient to provide clinical nursing care to acutely ill patients within the inpatient unit. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, collaborating with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

A BSN is preferred; Illinois RN license and BLS certification are required. ADN candidates may apply with a commitment to obtain a BSN within three years.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect data, assess patient needs, and develop an individualized plan of care.
• Direct care and coordinate with any assistants involved in direct patient care.
• Collaborate with patient, family, physicians and staff; document plan and progress.
• Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluate patient responses and adjust plan of care accordingly.
• Use evidence to guide practice decisions.
