Job summary

Pipeline Health is hiring an Inpatient & Outpatient Coder to ensure accurate and timely coding of medical records for both inpatient and outpatient encounters, maintaining a 95% coding accuracy rate and up-to-date knowledge of coding rules.

The role involves assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT codes from source documents, collaborating with care teams, and contributing to OSHPD data submissions, while upholding HIPAA and AIDET standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute care or inpatient setting.
• CCS Certification required or preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT codes from source documents in the medical record.
• Ensures coding in compliance with current regulations and maintains 95% accuracy.
• Completes at least 10 CEUs per year.
• Maintains productivity targets: 4 inpatient charts/hour and 5 outpatient charts/hour.
• Ensures OSHPD data submission and accuracy per definitions.
• Upholds HIPAA and AIDET standards and communicates professionally.
