Job summary

Exalt Health Rehabilitation Hospital WP is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to work under the supervision of an OT in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. The role focuses on helping patients regain independence in activities of daily living and returning to prior function.

The position requires an associate degree in occupational therapy, state licensure, and BLS certification, with 2 years inpatient rehab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
• Current certification to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• 2 years inpatient rehabilitation experience (preferred).
• Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients by assisting in evaluating functional abilities and implementing treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on adaptive equipment, home modifications and strategies.
• Document patient progress, interventions and outcomes in the EMR.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, OTs, physicians, nurses and the inter-disciplinary team.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain a safe patient care environment.
