Job summary

Exalt Health Rehabilitation Hospital Sarasota, LLC seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to work under the supervision of an OT in our inpatient rehabilitation setting. The role focuses on helping patients regain independence in ADLs and returning to prior function.

You will perform assessments, implement treatment plans, educate patients and families, and document progress while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced rehab environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
• Current state certification to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Current BLS certification required.
• 2 years inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and treatment planning to improve self-care and ADLs.
• Educating patients and families on adaptive equipment and home modifications.
• Documentation of patient progress and interventions in the EMR.
• Collaborating with OTs, physicians, nurses and the rehab team.
• Staying up-to-date with rehab practices and maintaining a safe patient environment.
