Job summary

Atrium Health's Inpatient Orthopedic Surgical Sports team in Union/Union West, NC, seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (PA or Acute Care NP) for a full-time role. Join a collaborative orthopedic care team delivering perioperative and clinic-based care across the patient journey.

The APP will support surgical physicians, perform first-assist duties, and manage orthopedic conditions with imaging interpretation and treatment planning.

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible to practice in North Carolina as Physician Assistant or Acute Care NP.
• Graduate from an accredited PA or Acute Care NP program.
• National board certification required.
• DEA license required or eligible.
• Eligible for prescriptive authority through NC governing board.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA) required with expiration greater than 90 days from start date.

Responsibilities

• Surgical first assist
• Potential office clinic coverage
• No call, weekends or holiday coverage
• Evaluate and manage orthopedic conditions and injuries
• Support perioperative patient management and surgical coordination
• Perform procedures within scope including splinting, bracing, casting, injections/aspirations, and wound care
• Interpret diagnostic imaging and collaborate on treatment planning
