Job summary

UPMC Shadyside and the Hillman Cancer Center are seeking two full-time daytime Solid Tumor Oncology Hospitalists to provide inpatient care for adults with solid tumor malignancies. The roles involve 12-hour day shifts, no overnight duties, and coordination with outpatient oncology teams.

Applicants should be board-certified/eligible in Internal Medicine, with residency completed and Pennsylvania licensure eligibility. Prior hospital medicine or cancer care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Completion of an Internal Medicine residency.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine.
• Eligibility for Pennsylvania medical license is required.
• Experience in hospital medicine or oncology care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and admit patients from the ED, clinics, or referring hospitals.
• Provide inpatient medical management for adults with solid tumors.
• Coordinate care with outpatient oncology teams and other specialists.
• Communicate handoffs to the overnight team and maintain EHR documentation.
• Respond to changes in clinical condition and manage oncologic complications.
