Job summary

Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Lunder 9 inpatient oncology unit. This role supports patients with daily living activities, monitors vital signs, and assists with basic caregiving tasks under licensed staff supervision.

The position requires basic medical knowledge, empathy, and the ability to work on-site at 45 Fruit Street in Boston. Prior patient-care exposure is preferred, with BLS/MA credentials encouraged as applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy.
• Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
• Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
• Assists with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating).
• Assists with turning and repositioning patients and moving between bed and wheelchair.
• Reports health concerns to the nurse.
