Job summary

Penn Medicine seeks an Inpatient Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide skilled OT services in a Level I Trauma Center. The OTA implements individualized treatment plans under supervision, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, documents progress, and assists with discharge planning while maintaining regulatory compliance.

The role requires an OTA Associate degree and CPR certification; hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• An Associate degree as a Occupational Therapy Assistant is required, issued by an American Occupational Therapy Association-approved program.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment procedures under supervision of the evaluating OT.
• Determines patient needs for services in collaboration with an OT.
• Communicates with patient, family, and team members to explain the treatment plan.
• Supervises equipment use and ensures safety for the patient.
• Monitors patient response and reports any needed changes to the OT.
• Maintains documentation in patient records and follows billing/reimbursement procedures.
• Reviews quality and effectiveness of services against criteria.
