Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Winfield, IL is hiring a Staff Nurse Inpatient to provide bedside nursing for acutely ill patients. Hours are 3p–3a with an every third weekend rotation; the role emphasizes assessment, planning, implementation and collaboration with the health care team.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN (ADN accepted with commitment to BSN within three years), is an Illinois-licensed registered nurse with BLS, strong interpersonal and analytic skills, and a track record of teamwork.

Qualifications

• BSN required; Illinois RN license in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, and develops an individualized care plan.
• Directs care and manages use of any nursing assistants.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians, and staff to coordinate care.
• Participates in governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Documents patient responses and evaluates care effectiveness.
• Uses evidence to guide nursing practice.
