Job summary

Hickory Trail Hospital in DeSoto, Texas is hiring Mental Health Technicians to join an 86-bed behavioral health team serving children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. The MHT role is on the unit, supporting safety, structure, and patient care alongside licensed nurses.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent; CNA certification preferred; two years of psychiatric patient care experience is preferred; weekend and flexible hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; CNA preferred; college degree in social work or therapy desirable.
• Experience: Two years in psychiatric patient care preferred.
• Licensure: CNA certification preferred.
• Additional: Weekend/overtime and flexible hours may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support a safe, structured environment on the unit and engage with patients; observe and relay information to nurses.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to implement care plans and respond calmly when situations change.
