Job summary

Hickory Trail Hospital in DeSoto, Texas, a 86-bed behavioral health facility serving the Dallas–Fort Worth community since 1988, is hiring Mental Health Techs to support patients across inpatient and outpatient programs, delivering compassionate, structured care.

In this on‑unit role you’ll help maintain a safe environment, build supportive relationships, and share observations with the nursing team to inform care decisions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; CNA preferred; degree in social work, recreational therapy, or related field desirable.
• Two years of related experience with psychiatric patient care knowledge preferred.
• CNA certification preferred.
• MHTs may be required to work weekends, overtime and have flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, structured environment on the unit.
• Build supportive relationships with patients and share observations with nurses.
• Respond calmly as situations change to support care decisions.
