Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an inpatient behavioral health team member to provide direct patient care, participate in treatment planning, and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. You will record vital signs, monitor patient safety, and assist in emergencies under the supervision of licensed nurses.

The role emphasizes de-escalation, documentation, and collaboration with nurses and other staff. A high school degree and CPR certification are required; restraint training must be completed

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English clearly and concisely.
• Effective interpersonal skills to communicate with patients, families, nurses and colleagues.
• Experience with patient safety checks and record-keeping.
• CPR certification required upon hire or during orientation and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the Mental Health Team for inpatient behavioral health care.
• Record vital signs and patient data in the EMR.
• Perform safety checks and de-escalation as needed; follow Restraint Policy when required.
• Assist in medical emergencies as directed by the licensed nurse.
• Maintain patient care charts and participate in unit-based quality improvement.
