Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Mental Health Admission Specialist to coordinate admissions to inpatient mental health and detox units through the emergency departments. You will manage patient data in Epic, triage admissions, and coordinate transfers with internal and external providers.

You will handle a busy patient placement workflow, collaborate with psychiatric teams, and ensure timely admissions while delivering high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma and preferred Healthcare related AA.
• At least 1 year in customer service settings.
• At least 1 year in a call center setting.
• Experience in a mental health setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers direct emergency admission line and enters information into Epic.
• Prioritizes internal transfers and ED/other admissions.
• Assess and triage client admissions using admission criteria.
• Document demographic and clinical information accurately.
• Coordinate inpatient admissions from external sources.
• Coordinate same-day admissions from internal/external sources.
• Coordinate physician-to-physician consultations.
• Support Patient Placement Manager in placing patients on appropriate floors.
