Qualifications

Review medical record documentation and assign ICD-10 codes per guidelines.
Abstract data for billing, POA, PSI indicators and case mix.
Collaborate with CDI team and physicians to clarify documentation.
Maintain quality, productivity and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Extract, review, and analyze clinical information to code for hospital billing and research.
Assign MS-DRG/APR-DRG codes and ensure proper POA.
Verify discharge disposition and POA indicators.
Ensure accuracy of principal diagnosis and procedures for admissions.
Communicate with CDI and clinicians to improve documentation.
Maintain adherence to coding guidelines and AHIMA clinics.
