Qualifications

• Inpatient coder with cod­ing certification and experience per guidelines.
• Ability to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes accurately and determine MS-DRGs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA/HITECH requirements.
• Proficient with EHR systems and basic office software.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records to identify diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes according to guidelines.
• Determine and assign the proper MS-DRG for each case.
• Query providers when documentation is missing or unclear.
• Produce weekly coding and productivity reports.
• Support audits and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Stay current with coding updates and annual education.
