Job summary

Medasource is partnering with a regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract. This role supports high-acuity inpatient cases across multiple specialties and requires strong accuracy and productivity.

Key duties include inpatient coding across specialties (Cardiology, Neurology, NICU, Transplants), using Epic EHR and 3M encoder, with adherence to regulatory standards. Start ASAP; contract length is 6 months with potential extension, PST hours.

Qualifications

• CCS certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered.
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience.
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background.
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred.
• Proficiency with Epic EHR and 3M encoder.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, NICU, Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
