Job summary

Medasource is partnering with a leading health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Key responsibilities include inpatient coding across specialties such as Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, NICU, and other complex inpatient cases, assigning accurate diagnosis and procedure codes

Qualifications

• CCS certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered.
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience.
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background.
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred.
• Proficiency with Epic EHR and 3M encoder usage.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties.
• Assign diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with standards.
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations.

Position: Inpatient Coder

Location: 100% Remote (PST Hours)

Contract Length: 6-months, with potential for extension

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
