Job summary

Medasource is hiring experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract role supporting a high-acuity, multi-specialty health system. The position is 100% remote with PST hours and a 6-month contract length, starting ASAP.

The coder will handle complex inpatient cases, ensure accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, and meet productivity and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• CCS certification preferred; RHIT/RHIA considered.
• Minimum 3 years inpatient coding experience.
• Experience in high-acuity inpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient episodes across multiple specialties (e.g., cardiology, neurology, NICU).
• Assign diagnoses and procedures per standards and regulations.
• Maintain timely, accurate coding in a fast-paced environment.

Summary

Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
