Job summary

Medasource seeks experienced Inpatient Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity supporting a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment. The role emphasizes accurate inpatient coding across complex cases with standard coding practices and timely submissions.

The position requires CCS certification (or RHIT/RHIA considered) and at least three years of inpatient coding experience, preferably in an academic medical center or trauma setting, with proficiency in Epic EHR and 3M encoder.

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, NICU, and other complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations
