Job summary

Qualifications

• IBCLC certification required or must meet progression requirements.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides inpatient lactation consultations and breastfeeding assessments.
• Supports high-risk parent–infant dyads.
• Develops and delivers breastfeeding education to parents (one-on-one or group).
• Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and staff to develop lactation plans.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and progress in the electronic medical record.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and staff education.
