Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital is seeking a compassionate Lactation Consultant to support new and expectant parents in achieving breastfeeding goals within inpatient settings. You will provide expert guidance, education, and hands-on assistance to promote infant nutrition and lactation success.

Collaborating with obstetricians, nurses, and dietitians, you will document progress and lead classes while staying current with best practices in maternal-child health.

Qualifications

• BSN required and IBCLC certification required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adapt to shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized lactation consultations to patients in hospitals, clinics, or home settings.
• Assess and address breastfeeding challenges such as latch issues and milk supply.
• Educate families on techniques, pumping, storage, and feeding plans.
