Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta seeks a qualified Inpatient Coder to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for hospital encounters. Minimum 3 years in a hospital inpatient setting; strong medical terminology and coding guideline knowledge; detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills are required.

Education requires a high school diploma or equivalent; certifications such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS or CIC are preferred. The role supports accurate health information for patient care and hospital data quality.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in a hospital inpatient setting.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS coding for inpatient accounts.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Reviews medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures for coding.
• Abstracts codes and data into the network system per policy.
• Monitors work queues and addresses missing documentation.
• Provides information to Coding Supervisor; performs other duties.
