Job summary

Mercy Health Home Care and Hospice by Compassus seeks an Inpatient Unit Hospice Aide to support compassionate patient care and maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and families in Youngstown.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (CNA preferred), CPR certification, 1–3 months related experience, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED highly preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred; CPR certification required.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training highly preferred; equivalent education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Answer the “call button” from the patient.
• Follow cleaning and service instructions as outlined by the Hospice Director of Clinical Services.
• Check stock and notify supervisor of supply needs.
• Provide a sanitary, odor-free, orderly environment for assigned patient.
• Assist with family needs and/or post mortem care at time of death.
• Launder linens and clothing.
• Sort, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens.
• Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies.
• Replenish bathroom supplies.
• Complete all assignments scheduled in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
