Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH is seeking a Nursing Aide to provide direct patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and within Mercy Health policies.

The role emphasizes compassionate, relationship-based care, accurate documentation, vital signs and daily living activities support, plus effective communication with the care team to maintain patient safety and quality of care.

Formación

• Clear communication with the healthcare team.
• Ability to understand and follow directions of the healthcare team.
• Knowledge of patient and healthcare safety standards and regulations (e.g. falls, skin breakdown, suicide prevention, environment of care).
• Infection prevention and transmission-based precautions.
• Understanding of clerical duties and office-based technology.
• Team dynamics.
• Patient data collection and documentation (e.g. vital signs, intake/output, change in patient condition).
• Basic hygiene and activities of daily living care.
• Feeding, hydration, and nutrition.
• Bowel and bladder elimination.
• Ambulation and patient mobility.
• Use of clinical technology.
• Compassionate, relationship-based approach in care activities.
• Accountability for completion of assigned tasks.
• Escalation of concerns via chain of command.

Responsabilidades

• Provide basic patient care including vital signs, personal hygiene, mobility, and comfort.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Deliver high level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Document accurately and timely for patient care.
• Communicate clearly with the healthcare team at all times.
