Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, Ohio, seeks a patient-focused Nursing Aide to provide direct care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse within policy and regulatory guidelines.

You will assist with basic patient care, monitor vital signs, support daily living activities, document care accurately, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team. Prior acute care or long-term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have completed one of the listed nursing aide trainings or certifications.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred; must obtain prior to direct patient care.
• Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health, hospice or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, hygiene and mobility.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse and report changes promptly.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to patients, families, and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Communicate clearly with the health care team at all times.
