Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks an experienced RN - Inpatient Float to provide critical nursing coverage across the organization. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, adherence to nursing standards, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional outcomes.

Weekend and holiday coverage are required. The successful candidate will hold a state RN license in Illinois, possess a BSN or higher, and have CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher.
• Current State of Illinois, Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Experience in specific clinical area.
• Nursing specialty certification, if eligible.

Responsibilities

• Provides coverage across the organization as assigned within the float team.
• Weekend and holiday requirements.
• Advocates for patient-centered care and develops individualized age-specific nursing plans.
• Delivers clinical care following ANA standards and organization policies.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Mentors and supports team members to maintain nursing excellence.
