Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with 1 year of nursing care experience in mental health or receive supervision from a Master''s prepared psychiatric nurse.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document findings.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on disease management and post-discharge care.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Provide emotional support and advocacy for patients during the hospital stay.
• Participate in professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
