Job summary

Beacon Behavioral Partners is seeking a full-time Floating Registered Nurse to cover our inpatient locations in Lacombe, Lutcher, and New Orleans East. Shifts run 7 AM–7 PM on days, with assignments across departments to ensure consistent patient coverage.

As an inpatient RN you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and educate patients and families about health management.

Qualifications

• Active Louisiana RN license required.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) with 1 year of nursing care in psychiatric/mental health settings.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care across inpatient units.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

Full-Time Floating Registered Nurse to cover our following Inpatient locations: Days 7AM - 7PM, Lacombe Inpatient, Lutcher Inpatient and New Orleans East Inpatient.

About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in an inpatient hospital setting, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care across various departments. Your primary objective will be to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to ensure optimal patient outcomes. You will collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust individualized care plans. This role demands vigilance in monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and providing education to patients and their families about health management. Ultimately, your work will contribute significantly to the hospital’s mission of providing compassionate, evidence-based care to diverse patient populations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (associate or bachelor's degree in nursing) with 1 year of providing nursing care to the mentally ill OR receive regular documented supervision/consultation from Master' prepared psychiatric nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
• Strong understanding of Psychiatric nursing principles, patient care standards, and medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
• Advanced certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environments.
