Job summary

Beacon Behavioral Hospital, Inc. in Lacombe, LA is seeking a Floating Registered Nurse to support inpatient locations, including Lutcher and New Orleans East, with shifts from 7AM to 7PM.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care across departments, while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. The role requires an active Louisiana RN license, BLS, and hospital-based experience in psychiatry or acute care.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana RN license and BLS certification.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with 1 year in mental health or supervision from a master’s prepared psychiatric nurse.
• Strong hospital/acute care nursing background and knowledge of psychiatric care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document findings.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on disease management and post-discharge care.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Provide emotional support and advocacy for patients during their hospital stay.
• Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
