Job summary

Children’s Hospital Colorado seeks an Inpatient Service Specialist to provide administrative support and superb customer service to patients, families and staff on the Level 8 Inpatient Medical Unit at the main campus.

Responsibilities include greeting and guiding visitors, collecting information for medical records, data entry into systems, scheduling, and maintaining files while upholding infection control and safety guidelines. Evening shifts with rotating weekends within a 3-12 hour schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of administrative/clerical experience in a customer service environment.
• A relevant associate or bachelor degree may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates family and patient orientation to the unit/clinic and basic amenities.
• Conducts patient and family rounding to ensure comfort and high-quality service.
• Provides administrative support for department processes and systems.
• Arranges and schedules meetings and conference calls.
• Creates and maintains files and filing systems.
• Performs reception duties using various communication and office systems.
• Performs data entry of patient demographics and updates in medical records.
• Creates patient identification cards, including photographing patients.
• Adheres to infection control policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintains knowledge of department operations and procedures.
