Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks a Coding Advocate to perform inpatient medical coding and data entry for acute hospital visits, including CABG, Ortho, and Med cases. Proficiency with the 3M 360 Encoder HDM is required to streamline coding and billing processes.

The role entails adherence to HIPAA/ERISA, and working across multiple sites to meet quality and productivity standards while delivering excellent client service.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent experience; AHIMA or AAPC certification REQUIRED.
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases REQUIRED.
• Experience working with 3M 360 Encoder HDM REQUIRED.
• Meets or exceeds Quality and Productivity standards.
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
• Must be detail oriented and able to follow through on issues to resolution.
• Must be able to act both independently, and as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: Assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes including primary/secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Create compliant physician queries as needed.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists consistent with client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and support team objectives.
• Floats between sites and coding specialties with flexibility.
