Inpatient Coding Specialist Role

As an Inpatient Coding Specialist, your responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and accurately coding inpatient charts using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
• Abstracting clinical data and ensuring accurate DRG assignment
• Maintaining productivity and quality standards
• Communicating with CDI and other departments for documentation clarification
• Adhering to coding guidelines and organizational policies

Requirements include:

• Minimum of 3 years inpatient coding experience
• Active AHIMA or AAPC certification (CCS, RHIT, or CPC-H preferred)
• Strong knowledge of coding guidelines, DRG validation, and documentation standards
• Experience with EPIC, 3M Encoder, or Meditech is a plus
• Attention to detail, time management, and analytical skills
