You will abstract required data elements, review encounters for compliant coding, query providers as needed, and partner with leadership to maintain the integrity of medical records and coding practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Inpatient coding experience with 2–5 years preferred.
• Certification as CCS, RHIA, or RHIT required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately abstracts required data elements and stays updated on coding conventions and regulatory guidelines.
• Thoroughly reviews patient encounters for compliant coding and queries providers for clarification as needed.
• Collaborates with leadership and colleagues to maintain the integrity of medical records and coding compliance.
