Job summary

micro1 is seeking Certified Inpatient Coders to contribute to a customer project focused on enhancing medical data accuracy and AI training. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems, shaping how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality real-world input.

You will review inpatient records for accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, validate MS-DRG assignments, and identify HACs and POA indicators.

Qualifications

• Active certification in inpatient coding (CIC or CCS) or related AHIMA/AAPC certs.
• Access to up-to-date ICD-10-CM/PCS coding references and Coding Clinic guidance.
• Currently working in inpatient medical coding or related CDI role.
• Available to commit at least 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS coding per guidelines.
• Review clinical documentation for accuracy and coding integrity.
• Identify principal/secondary diagnoses and assign POA indicators.
• Validate MS-DRG assignments and flag HACs/MCCs.
• Evaluate AI-generated notes against documentation and coding standards.
• Code AI-generated information using ICD-10-CM/PCS codes.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies to maintain data integrity.
• Provide written feedback to improve model performance.
