Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a pharmacist to interpret, evaluate, and dispense medications per professional standards and hospital policies. You will collaborate with care teams to ensure safe, effective drug therapy and supervise technicians and interns.

The role emphasizes adherence to compliance, participation in rounds, and involvement in dose monitoring and pharmacokinetic considerations, within a dynamic clinical setting at Rhode Island Hospital.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Current unrestricted licensure as a licensed pharmacist in Rhode Island (or 90-day temporary license with full licensure before expiry).
BLS and ACLS Certifications within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Receives and reviews patient medication orders for completeness and therapeutic appropriateness.
Intervenes with prescribers to optimize therapy and cost effectiveness.
Provide drug information and consultation to prescribers, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
Participate in continuing education and quality improvement activities.
