Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient care assistant to provide direct patient care, assist with daily activities, and support RN staff on an inpatient unit. The role emphasizes documentation, time management, and adherence to HIPAA and hospital policies.

The incumbent will participate in admissions/discharges, ensure patient safety, and assist with basic procedures and equipment upkeep. Training and certifications such as CPR are required or in progress.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Basic computer skills for documentation.
• CPR certification required or enrolled in program to obtain.
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provides direct patient care and assists with activities of daily living and vital signs.
• Documents patient care activities in the electronic medical record.
• Participates in patient admissions, discharges and transfers coordination.
• Maintains patient/family environment and attends to unit upkeep.
• Responds to emergencies under RN supervision and follows policies and procedures.
