Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to work in our Cardiac Surgery department. The Advanced Practice Provider will provide inpatient care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including daily rounding, clinical assessment, treatment planning, and care coordination on the cardiac surgery step-down unit.

Schedule: 26 hours per week, 13-hour shifts with call and weekends.

Competenze

• Master’s degree in nursing or PA program from an accredited institution.
• Acute care certification required for APRNs.
• First Assist Certification required for all APRNs.

Mansioni

• Provide inpatient care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients.
• Rounding, clinical assessment, and care coordination on the cardiac surgery step-down unit.
• Prescribe/order medications and interpret tests per privileges.
• Mentor students and participate in quality improvement.
